Can I add a clear coat over the vinyl?

Yes! A clear coat will help to smooth out your vinyl decals and will seal them into the rocket. It will help keep them from being damaged or the edges from peeling when handled often. Clear coat like you would anything – adding several thin layers is best. For better finish, sand lightly between coats. As with any paint or clear coat, it’s best to test first to make sure things are compatible. Just ask, and we’d be happy to send a piece of scrap with your order to test with!

What if I need a printed decal?

No problem, we can do those too! Printed decals are printed versions of any color or combination of colors, halftones, etc. We can print from most any file type and scale it as needed. Printed decals are a little more expensive if you only need one, but they look great and again, last a lifetime. Printed decals are also awesome if you need a club logo or anything like that. Printing small decals in larger numbers is actually cheaper! So contact us if you need a club logo or something similar!

Do you do water slide decals?

No, at this time, we do not offer water slide decals. Please take this into consideration when making a purchase.

What color decals do you offer?

We offer decals in black, white, silvery grey, maroon, red, orange, yellow, alien green, dark green, light blue, royal blue, pink, purple, chrome, gold chrome and gold metallic. We also offer yellow green, dark orange and dark blue. These are our standard colors, but we also have other “exotic” colors available, which may be subject to an additional charge, such as purple chrome and laser cut holographic. If you need something special, we can order it, too! Please contact us for these options.

How do I install my decal?

Videos are a little below, But please read this too!

Installing Vinyl decals is pretty easy, But it make take a little to get used to how they apply. they are different then a lot of other types of decals. I HIGHLY recommend you watch the videos below , they have some GREAT tips tricks and methods.

CUT DECALS: Your decal will come with a backing (just like any peel and stick decal) and an application tape laid over it. The application tape (or backing tape) holds the decal together as one piece for easy installation. It also allows you to use a brandishing tool (such as a bondo spreader or even a credit card) to squeeze the decal down and work out bubbles without touching the decal. Once satisfied, the backing tape peels off to expose your new decal. Any questions PLEASE dont hesitate to contact me!

IMPORTANT NOTE..Please read: They mention application spray.. this is for decals APPROXIMATELY 1/2″ or larger. smaller decals application spray will make them harder to apply. SO do them the same but DRY! (like small lettering and small details) the spray is to allow things to move until fully pressed on. you can BUY spray. I like “RAPID TAC” which is available in small bottles from most sign supply places. and ebay OR you can use a windex type bottle full of warm water and a few drops of dish soap. just enough to get some suds… this will work fine in most all cases! YOU CAN apply any decal DRY but alignment becomes much more critical. and you will get more bubbles (you can pop them with a sharp exacto etc and most small ones will go away in time!

Having Trouble removing the backing?? Tips to make it easy! This can be very common (especially when you have two or more LAYERS of cut vinyl.. )

PRINTED WRAPS: Please watch the videos below for the BEST way to apply these. THESE Techniques work very well for anything printed on AIR RELEASE vinyl if you are not sure.. feel the bottom layer the backing will have texture to it. (if the BACK of the decal says ORACAL 651 it is NOT air release.. air release will PROBABLY say ORAJET with NO numbers)

How does the Crash Protection Warranty work?

Stickershock now offers decal protection unlike anyone else! If you install any Stickershock decal on any rocket and you crash it, Cato it or accidentally run over it with your recovery vehicle, will replace that decal for half the cost of the original decal!

To qualify, send us a copy of your receipt (when you get it, stick it in your range box, or someplace safe), a picture of your damaged rocket, your fill name and shipping information, and your email address or other contact information to receive half off the original price on any replacement decal. (Printed decals will be replaced, but the $20.00 minimum setup fee still applies.) Once this is received, we will contact you and arrange payment and shipping!

Please note that will not cover decals from rockets that are lost or stolen, or damaged from improper use. Decals that come off during supersonic flights will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Any decal used on anything other than a rocket (i.e. cars, boats, trailers, etc.) are not covered under this warranty.

What does shipping cost?

We charge $4.50 for USPS First Class shipping (sorry, no insurance) and $8.50 for USPS Priority shipping (comes with $50 damage insurance from the post office) anywhere in the U.S.! International shipping is $14 and up. No matter how big your order is or how many items you order, your shipping cost will remain the same. That means you will get your item(s) in 2-3 days for one low cost! We also ship outside the U.S. If you need shipping outside the U.S, please contact us and we will get you an estimate. However, we can ship a typical order to most places for $8-15 USPS first class. If your order fits in an envelope, we’ve been able to send for as low as $3. If you’re in a hurry, we can also do priority international shipping. This is more expensive, but much quicker.

Why am I asked to provide a circumference?

Most rocketry body tubes are standard sizes, but some people either don’t use a standard tube, add fiberglass to them or have an odd-sized tube to start with. For that reason, we cannot be sure what size your rocket tube is unless you tell us. There are just way too many different possible sizes to list them all. By entering your circumference, we can match your decal to your rocket tube exactly. If you do not enter a circumference, we will assume your tube is standard sized (like LOC or PML) and make your decals to fit. If you choose not to provide a circumference and your decal doesn’t end up fitting your rocket, it will not be covered under warranty! You may also enter “wildman tube” or “madcow thin wall fiberglass” or similar.if it is a standard tube with nothing special done to it (no extra fiberglass.. just simple paint etc)

PLEASE NOTE: vinyl graphics ESPECIALLY WRAP VINYL (full color printed) are designed to go on curved or complex curved items.. this means they CAN STRETCH SHRINK EXPAND ETC. TEMPERATURE WILL ALSO EFFECT THIS. so getting a wrap around a rocket to fit 100% is almost impossible. I WILL DO MY BEST to match your numbers with a little overlap but there is some about of things I cannot compensate for.. BUT by entering your TRUE circumference gets you as close as humanly possible!

What is circumference and how do I find it?

Circumference is the distance around the outside of a circle – or in our case, a tube. It is calculated by multiplying pi times the diameter.

Circle Circumference Diameter
Circle Circumference Diameter

In rocketry, there are so many different sized tubes out there. Just because a tube is advertised as a 2″ tube doesn’t mean it’s actually 2″. Some manufacturers’ 2″ tubes are actually 1.9″ (like Aerotech). Estes made a BT67 that was 2.02″ and a BT70 that was 2.217″. For a long time, standard 5.5″ tube was actually 5.38″, for example. For this reason, there are far too many circumference sizes to list each one, so we ask you to provide a circumference.

PLEASE ALSO REMEMBER WHAT A TUBE IS ADVERTISED TO BE IS ALMOST NEVER CORRECT! it may say its a 4″ tube but chances are its either 3.91 or 4.12″ (these are BOTH very common)

When finding your circumference, DO NOT simply “do the math” or use calipers to take your measurement then do the math. More often than not, you’ll squeeze the tube (even just a tiny bit) when measuring diameter/radius, which will give you the wrong number right from the get-go and your math will be wrong, ACTUALLY IT WILL MULTIPLY YOUR SMALL ERROR BY 3.1415 NOW making it a HUGE error. (if you squeeze your tube just 1/8″ you will be off by almost 1/2″ when doing the math!!!!) . Instead, please physically wrap something (such as a piece of paper, tape or measuring tape) around your tube, mark it, and measure it to get an exact circumference. (THIS METHOD WILL ALWAYS BE CORRECT EVEN IF YOU SMASH THE TUBE BY 2 INCHES!) Then, when you make your order, select the closest Diameter size listed and then enter your exact circumference measurement! That way, we can adjust the decal size to fit your tube exactly!

IF your tube is a standard tube with no extra fiberglass or super thick paint etc. you can enter ” MADCOW THINWALL FIBERGLASS” or “PML PHENOLIC TUBE” etc I do have measurements for MOST standard HIGH POWER tubes. BUT entering your TRUE Circumference will ALWAYS give you the BEST matched decal for your rocket.

Is my decal guaranteed to fit?

We guarantee our decals will fit your tube, based on the circumference you provide to us when ordering. If for whatever reason your decal still doesn’t fit, we will do what it takes to resolve the issue and get you a new one, so long as you have checked the box stating that you have read the instructions for determining your circumference and have done so correctly, and provided us with that circumference. Orders made without providing a specific circumference or verifying that you have read the instructions for how to determine the circumference of your tube will not be guaranteed, so if they don’t fit, you will be responsible for re-measuring and re-purchasing a replacement decal.

PLEASE NOTE: vinyl graphics are designed to go on MANY surfaces and shapes.. they CAN AND WILL stretch shrink expand etc and can do so with TEMPERATURE changes.. I will do my best to match your circumference. BUT do to these things you have to understand I can only get them so close!
